I couldn't have said it better myself. Jeena Choi of Mamacat's Tea, has graciously offered to send a package of Jack's favorite blend-- Ruby Slippers-- to one lucky full plate reader. To be entered to win this special treat, please leave a comment letting him know "your favorite book to read while you are drinking tea", before 3pm Friday, February 17th. Jack will be choosing the winner after he gets home from school.
Jack, you should check out Mrs. Piggle Wiggle while drinking tea. She has all kinds of crazy cures of her own!
ReplyDeleteI really think, that hot tea will be great company for Mr. Popper's Penguins :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy whatever book I happen to be reading at the present time......tea is great with any book!

What a wonderful, thorough review, Jack! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, you don't have to be sick to drink Ruby Slippers... you can drink it day or night, hot or cold, happy or sad, excited or nervous... whenever! But it IS doubly delicious while you are reading a book! :) Cheers!
Jack,
ReplyDeleteI am expecting my first baby in April. I am starting to read to the baby one of my favorite books from my childhood which is Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.
Mrs. Eleni
My favorite book to read while drinking a cup of tea is 'The Joy of Cooking'...can you tell that I'm a foodie! lol!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book to read while drinking a cup of tea... is whatever one I am currently reading!! Haha! Last night was re-reading (for the 99th time) my tattered 1982 edition of Maida Heatter's "New Book of Great Desserts".
ReplyDeleteWe just happened to finish one at our house that was simply the best for any age - Where the Mountain Meets the Moon - check it out!!
ReplyDeleteLike others above, I read whatever I am in the middle of, or I read to my kids. Their most recent favorite from the library is The Shivers in the Fridge.
ReplyDeleteI do love tea, though I have yet to try Ruby Slippers. (What a cute name!) And probably what I was reading most recently to my children while drinking tea was Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff, who has lots of great Danny and the Dinosaur stories!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments so far. I can't wait to see who wins tomorrow. You can enter a comment until I get home from school on Friday, then I will pick a winner to get this yummy tea. - Jack!
ReplyDeleteYou know who I bet would love this tea? Matilda, the title character from my favorite book of all time. I bet she'd share it with her teacher Miss Honey.
ReplyDeletePhoebe loves Ruby Slippers tea and thinks James and the Giant Peach is the perfect book to read while sipping it!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Jack! I am a tea girl through and through. I grew up having afternoon tea and dipping cookies in my tea until they got soft and mushy. I even named my blog "Tea Time". Nate loves tea, he's five. He drinks tea when he is feeling sick or just needs a little cozy time. We like to read The Magic Treehouse with our tea. I hope I can read more of your writing, you are very good!
ReplyDeleteBrendan likes drinking peach tea (not too hot!) while reading any of the Harry Potter books! His favorite is the Order of the Phoenix!
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, ANY Star Wars or Clone Wars or Lego Star Wars book....[but really because that's all I am allowed to read in my house these days....whether I am drinking tea or not :)]
ReplyDeleteJack...I am a chamomile kinda gal, it helps me sleep...try it sometime if you have trouble closing your eyes at night? My favorite book to read with my chamomile tea when I am ready for bed, is a book called "The Giving Tree" ...have you read it?
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried ruby slippers yet jack - it sounds yummy!! Reed and i are reading Tales of a 4th Grade nothing by Judy Blume - its about a boy named Peter and his very naughty little brother Fudge ---will ruby slippers make me sleepy? we need that here in Lake Forest, IL....xo
ReplyDeleteHi Jack! The two books I have read over and over are Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little by EB White. I was given a box set which also included Trumpet of the Swan. Although I never cracked the spine of that one, the other two are raggedly well loved! Maybe I'll brew a cup of tea and try it out this weekend... love, Ms. Walden
ReplyDeleteJack, while we drink our tea (raspberry for
ReplyDeletethe boys and green tea with lemon for mom)
we like to read Cheaper By The Dozen, Where
The Wild Things Are, and The Maggie B.
Happy reading from Jack and Liam
Hi Jack! What a nice post. You are a very good writer. I have known your mommy since before she was your age! One of the things I really like to read when I am drinking tea is a cookbook. In fact, just lately I was drinking tea and reading the cookbook from the elementary school that your mom and I went to together. Congratulations on your first blog post.

Love Mamacat's Ruby Slippers - they have some wonderfully fragrant teas!
ReplyDeleteHi Jack- I like a nice mug of earl grey and my favorite book Mia's baker's dozen! From Reeve
ReplyDeleteI like to read books about tea while drinking tea! Here are some of my favorites:
ReplyDeleteThe Little Black Book of Tea: The Essential Guide to all Things Tea
The Russian Tea Room: A Tasting
The London Ritz Book of Afternoon Tea: The Art & Pleasures of Taking Tea
Charlotte M
Jack, you're such a natural blogger! You sold me on the tea, and I can't wait to try it out!
ReplyDeleteIf your thoughts on tea are this advanced, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the current economic crisis...can't wait to pick your brain.
-Ms. Castle
Jack,
ReplyDeleteI am not a big tea drinker normally, but I loved your post so much I am going to have to try this tea out!
My favorite books to read while drinking tea would be anything written by Sharon Creech. She is my favorite author from when I was your age.
Miss Pickard
Jack, what a wonderful blog idea! I'm so impressed that you like to drink tea. Ryland recently told me he liked tea as well, but never having given him any I wasn't sure if I should believe him. He insisted on having some with me and drank two whole cups! You boys have such refined taste buds! So, my favorite book to drink with my tea is "The Power of One" by Bryce Courtenay. It's a great book about a little boy and his adventures while growing up in South Africa.
ReplyDelete- Mrs. Strine
Jack,
ReplyDeleteI loved your post. Janse's experience "drinking tea" was high tea at Brown's Hotel in London. It was quite the fancy affair, for which none of us were quite prepared! I would say given the English connection and her love for the series, Janse would recommend Harry Potter anytime anywhere. Enjoy! Mrs. S.
Jack,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great blog and I'm glad you are learning to use the computer. My favorite book to read while sipping tea is Heidi. It was my favorite book as a child and my grandmother read it to me a hundred times. I'd also like some melted cheese on bread to go with it - that's what Heidi ate. Yum!
Hi Jack, I have never heard of Ruby Slippers! What have I been missing out on? I always drink Sleepytime before I doze off.... I am currently reading South with the Sun, a book about South Pole exploration. So many adventures!
