How is this for a neat-- and very, very simple-- homemade gift idea? I've been reading this "Food In Jars" blog all summer, thinking maybe I'd dip my pinky toe into canning (which didn't happen, but the enormous pot I bought came in handy when I made those 26 batches of pumpkin cannelloni). But this recipe is so simple! Wouldn't it be such a treat to get a little jar of this homemade vanilla?(p.s. that's Food in Jar's beautiful photo above, not mine)
